COMET C/2018 L2 (ATLAS)
H. Weiland (T08) reported that this object appeared to be a comet, with a
size of 8".75 in quadrature excess of the stellar profile in 8 images obtained
on June 6.3 UT. R. Holmes (807) reported a bright 15" coma in images just
before June 7.0 UT. C. Jacques (Y00) reported a 21" coma and a 27" tail in
P.A. 92, in a stack of five 60s exposures on June 7.0 UT. S. M. Tilley (Q62)
reported the object to have tail and coma in stacks of five 60s exposures on
June 7.6 UT. A. C. Gilmore (474) reported that the object had a FWHM of
3".9 (compared to stellar FWHMs of 2".5) and a diffuse fringe to the SE on
June 3.66-3.67 UT. L. S. Amaral (X74) reported pre-discovery images from June
4.0 UT that showed a diffuse 8" coma.
