COMET C/2019 A5 (PANSTARRS)
     R. Wainscoat and R. Weryk write that another object reported initially
as asteroidal on images taken with the Pan-STARRS1 1.8-m Ritchey-Chretien
telescope at Haleakala on Jan. 4.6 UT has been found later to show a
slightly fuzzy appearance (discovery observations tabulated below).

Weryk reports that three follow-up confirming 60-s gri-band MegaCam images
were obtained on Jan. 14.43 UT with the 3.6-m Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope
at Mauna Kea by Wainscoat, L. Wells, and S. Prunet, which show a faint 4"
tail toward the southwest; the comet's head/coma shows full-width-at-half-
maximum of 1".2 (vs. 0".7 for nearby stars), with measured magnitude 21.2.
Further images obtained as above with the CFHT on Jan. 15.39 in better seeing
conditions (0".6 seeing) show a tail at least 10" long in p.a. 230 deg and
FWHM = 1".0 for the head/coma.
     The available astrometry, the following preliminary parabolic orbital
elements by G. V. Williams (from 20 observations spanning Jan. 4-17), and an
ephemeris appear on MPEC 2019-B45.

     T = 2017 Oct. 13.9768 TT         Peri. = 287.0819
                                      Node  = 149.9686  2000.0
     q = 4.537253 AU                  Incl. =  55.7700
