COMET C/2020 R4 (ATLAS)
     K. Yoshimoto, Kumage, Yamaguchi, Japan, writes that CCD images taken on
Apr. 30.51 UT with a 0.20-m reflector show a small outburst in brightness
(total V magnitude 9.4), with the comet showing a dust hood an a coma 8'.8 in
diameter with a straight, sharp tail 4'.5 long in p.a. 165 deg. Additional
visual total-magnitude and coma-diameter estimates (cf. CBET 4938): Mar.
16.31, 10.0, 2' (J. G. de S. Aguiar, Campinas, Brazil, 0.27-m reflector);
21.30, 10.0, 2' (Aguiar); Apr. 8.32, 10.1, -- (Aguiar); 10.79, 9.3, 9'
(Yoshimoto, 20x100 binoculars); 11.31, 9.0, 8' (M. Goiato, Aracatuba, Brazil,
20x100 binoculars); Apr. 12.12, 7.9, 12' (J. J. Gonzalez, Asturias, Spain,
25x100 binoculars); 14.32, 10.1, 4' (Aguiar); 17.03, 7.7, 15' (Gonzalez, 10x50
binoculars); 21.24, 9.2, 8' (Goiato); 24.33, 10.2, 3' (Aguiar); May 3.92, 8.3,
10' (Gonzalez, Leon, Spain, 25x100 binoculars); 8.08, 9.6, 8' (Gonzalez,
Asturias, Spain, 0.20-m reflector).
     Updated orbital elements by S. Nakano (CBAT) from 662 observations
spanning 2020 Aug. 29-2021 May 4 (mean residual 0".6), with non-gravitational
parameters A_1 = +0.64 +/- 0.15, A_2 = +0.7086 +/- 0.0319.  The corresponding
original and future values of 1/a are +0.010336 and +0.010633, respectively,
with indicated osculating orbital period 958 years. The comet passed 3.92 AU
from Jupiter on 2021 Jan. 19 UT. [Corrigendum. On CBET 4938, FOR Nakqano
