                            COMET P/2023 Y1 (Gibbs)                             

     A. R. Gibbs reports the discovery of a comet in four survey images taken
on Dec. 17 UT by Mt. Lemmon Survey (G96), noting a condensed 5" coma and
a straight 5" tail at position angle 285 deg. Prediscovery positions were
reported on Nov. 2023. Additional reports of cometary features are as follows:
