COMET P/2023 Y2 (Gibbs)
A. R. Gibbs reports the discovery of a comet in survey images taken on
Dec. 17 UT by Mt. Lemmon Survey (G96), noting a condensed 5" coma and a curved
40" tail at position angle 295 deg. Prediscovery positions from Pan-STARRS 1
were reported from 2023 Dec. 13 UT and additioonal positions were found in the
Isoated Tracklet File (ITF) from 2022. Additional reports of cometary features
